Every year, 30,000 missionaries are called to serve the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints around the world, making it the church with the largest full-time missionary force. The majority are under 25 and have been away from home for up to two years, with the largest training centre in Europe located in Chorley, Lancashire.
