Sara Pascoe welcomes the four semi-finalists into the sewing room, where they will work on practical apparel for a chance to compete in the final. The sewers are challenged by judges Patrick Grant and Esme Young to construct a trench coat, which began as part of a military uniform. They must confront the many details that distinguish this coat, from the storm flaps to the epaulettes to the double-breasted design.
