Amie Harwick’s roommate, Michael Herman, was awakened in the early hours of the morning by blood-curdling screams. As he rushed to help, he was confronted with the shocking reality of her attack. Herman details his frantic search for help, running to a neighbor’s house only to find no one home. He finally managed to use a stranger’s phone to call 911. When officers arrived, they discovered Amie gravely injured under her third-story balcony, with clear signs of a struggle inside the house.

Amie was rushed to the hospital, but tragically, she died from her injuries. Investigators found a syringe with a mysterious substance on the balcony and uncovered signs of an intruder, including a shattered window. Over time, evidence pointed to her ex-boyfriend, who was later convicted of her murder.

In this episode, Michael Herman reflects on the traumatic events, expressing the immense survivor’s guilt he feels, while Amie’s parents, Penny and Tom Harwick, share their gratitude for the heroic actions Michael took that night.
