Chris and Meg’s Wild Summer – 19 September 2021 – 19/9/2021 – Sunday – BBC Two

North East Coast – Series 1 Episode 4 of 6 – Chris Packham and stepdaughter Megan McCubbin continue their wildlife-watching road trip round Britain, this time exploring the coast of the North East and Scottish borders.

At the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art in Gateshead, they visit the furthest-inland colony of kittiwakes the world, an unusual site for a species that ordinarily prefers cliff edges and rock faces. Next, they head to the Northumberland coast for the chance at seeing some grey seals.

Afterwards, they head for the tidal island of Lindisfarne, home of the famous priory and a good area for rockpooling. Finally, they head for their favourite haunt of Bass Rock in Scotland, home of the world’s largest colony of northern gannets.
