Friday Night Dinner – 27 March 2020 – 27/3/2020 – March 27 – Friday – Channel 4

The Caravan
Season 6, Episode 1
Robert Popper’s award-winning comedy about the Goodman family returns with a sixth helping of episodes, starring Simon Bird, Tom Rosenthal, Tamsin Greig and Paul Ritter. Adam (Bird) and Jonny (Rosenthal) arrive at Mum and Dad’s house discussing their big news: they’ve both got girlfriends. The question is, should they tell Mum (Greig)? Meanwhile, Dad (Ritter) has bought a ‘dustbin-on-wheels’ caravan. He’s practically been living in it all week and now wants the family to have dinner in there. But Mum refuses to set foot inside and has even resorted to communicating with Dad via walkie-talkie. Later, Jim (Mark Heap) arrives with his new dog: his house has flooded, and he wants to know if he can eat his dinner in the ‘special little house’ on the driveway… But after a terrible incident involving Jim, the caravan’s chemical toilet and Mum’s beloved carpet, will the family be forced to spend the evening in the ‘crapmobile’ after all?

About Friday Night Dinner

The titular mealtime is anything but normal for brothers Adam and Jonny Goodman, siblings in an eccentric Jewish family who return home each week for free eats. When they’re not busy playing pranks on each other, they’re breaking bread with their parents: father Martin likes to stroll around shirtless and collect science magazines, while mom Jackie is obsessed with `MasterChef’ and tries her best to inject an air of normalcy into the insanity that always ensues. And of course, supper just wouldn’t be the same without an appearance from Jim, a creepy neighbour whose frequent visits elevate him to `stalker’ status.

This show is broadcast on Channel 4.
