Heathrow: Inside Britain’s Busiest Airport – 29 September 2021 – 29/9/2021 – ITV

Series 7 – Episode 8 – With the airport relegated to 14th busiest in Europe down from number 1 pre-pandemic – one would imagine the police would be kicking back their heels, and yet they are as busy as ever.

Every day the aviation police are given 10-15 warrants to arrest or intercept passengers at the airport, and in this weeks’ show, an inbound passenger has an entourage of armed officers waiting for him.

As the police blue light it to the gate, they manage to slip past Airside Rachel’s inspection station. It’s here that the Queen of safety randomly selects vehicles to make sure they are runway and taxi-way worthy.

Tonight she’s got a rather large vehicle to oversee – one lesser known aircraft to Heathrow – a propeller plane – arriving from the Isle of Man.

As well as the baggage hold creating a challenge for the ground staff, Rachel has to deal with an unexpected delay.

Opening the episode is the King of Customer Service and stalwart of Heathrow Britain’s Busiest Airport, Demi, who immediately plunges into his favourite role of “passenger saviour” when 12 young divers are struggling to make their championship flight..
