He starts by investigating the construction of what is known today as the Northern Line, running 36 miles through London and connects the boroughs north and south of the Thames.

From the world’s first deep tube line to the longest tube line in London, Rob discovers unique facets in every corner of the underground with the help of the Underground’s expert staff. As with any ancient construction, however, Rob is exposed to the flaws and shortcomings that plague ageing lines, such as the Central Line, which is slowly succumbing to its Victorian legacy.
