Long Lost Family: What Happened Next 22 August 2022: Season 7 Episode 3 on ITV 11

This week, we catch up with three searchers navigating new relationships and complicated feelings.

Ex-premiership footballer Dominic Matteo came to us desperate to find his birth mother after being diagnosed with a brain tumour. In a first for us, when we found his birth mum Maggie, she’d actually seen her son playing football on television without realising he was the baby she’d given up for adoption. But for Dom and Maggie this didn’t turn out to be the only coincidence…

In our second story Grant Williams returns to Derry in Northern Ireland to spend more time with his daughter Wendy O’Hagan nearly a decade after we first tracked him down. But with Grant’s recent diagnosis of Alzheimer’s, father and daughter must make use of every second they have together.

And finally, Colin Deering – who first met his brother Bryan back in 2014 – starts out on a whole new journey to find out about his birth father, with consequences none of us could ever have imagined.

About Long Lost Family

The BAFTA award-winning documentary series returns to ITV as presenters Davina McCall and Nicky Campbell reunite more family members with their missing loved ones.

With help from a team of trained intermediaries, DNA experts and investigators, Nicky and Davina find people that previously couldn’t be traced and answer questions that have haunted entire lives. And, at a time of international crisis which has seen many people experience separation from loved ones, these reunions have more poignancy than ever.

This show is broadcast on ITV.
