Following the end of the war in Afghanistan, western troops were part of a Nato force that worked with the then-new Afghan authorities to ‘earn the hearts and minds’ of civilians, with Danish and British troops stationed in the vital southern province of Helmand. In this Storyville video, a former Danish soldier turned filmmaker returns to Musa Qala, Helmand’s capital, to examine charges that Afghan police abused young boys and men when the Danish and British were in charge.
