The Repair Shop – 18 March 2020 – 18/3/2020 – March 18 – Wednesday – BBC

Season 5, Episode 21
Jay Blades and the team bring four treasured family heirlooms, and the memories they hold, back to life. Sisters Angie Jackson and Carmen Henry from Birmingham are hoping organ-restorer David Burville can revive their late mother’s pride and joy, a portable pump organ. The organ accompanied their parents as they journeyed from Jamaica to begin a new life in the UK during the Windrush era. Angie and Carmen’s family would come together to sing around the organ while their mother played hymns. However, the organ has been silent for over 40 years, and the sisters yearn to hear it once more. Toni Hazel from Sussex brings along a well-travelled piece of Second World War history of which she hopes hat restorer Ian Harding can take command. The RAF cap belonged to her father, worn proudly when he served as a pilot flying a Lancaster bomber. Two more sisters hope restorer Will Kirk can save a beloved piece of family furniture.
