A 100-year-old shipping record detailing a seafarer’s gallantry during World War II has been given new life. A little table on creaky legs puts the barn on a more solid basis. Abdus is the first to enter the barn, carrying a well-traveled treasure for the attention of paper expert Angelina Bakalarou. Ansol, Abdus’s father, was a seafarer who rose through the ranks to manage a below-deck team shovelling coal in blistering heat.
