Kent – Rob Bell is in Kent, riding a peaceful, rural railway that rose to prominence through two world wars. The Elham Valley railway previously connected Canterbury and Folkestone across the ‘Garden of England’ chalk downs. The route was created as part of a tug of war between rival Victorian rail firms, as Rob finds.
