The Defenders are looking into an £800,000 home improvement scam. Fraudsters use a kitchen extension built by someone else as a false display home and post fake reviews on their website to induce buyers to give over big deposits. The crooks keep the money, but no work is ever done. In another example, they seize pet passports and other documentation as proof after rescuing puppies from an unregistered backyard breeder.
