Sara Pascoe welcomes back Reduce Reuse Recycle Week, which takes on the fast fashion industry, the world’s second most polluting industry. The sewers begin by attempting a zero-waste pattern for a pair of trousers, which requires difficult mathematical abilities to figure out how to make the pattern components without leaving a scrap of waste fabric. Sewers in the Transformation Challenge make a garment out of a mound of used tote bags.
