Luke grew raised in Rochdale in a white working-class household, yet he always felt like an outsider. He felt it was due of his sexuality, but when he came out as gay at the age of 18, his parents were very supportive, and the feeling persisted. Persistent queries about his appearance eventually prompt him to take a DNA test, the results of which burst his identity, revealing a secret his mother has kept concealed since Luke’s birth – his father is not his real father, and he is mixed race.
